Performed by experienced Vadhyars trained in Vedic Pathshalas, the Seemantham ceremony includes:
- Punyahavachanam – Purification rituals
- Kalasa Sthapanam – Sacred Kalasam setup
- Udaka Shanthi – Chanting of protective mantras
- Homams – Fire rituals invoking divine blessings
- Kalasa Abhishekam – Ritual bathing of the mother with sanctified water
- Poochudal – Floral decoration for the expecting mother
- Valakappu – Bangle ceremony symbolizing protection and good fortune
All necessary Pooja items and materials (Samagri) are brought by the Vadhyar.

Seemantham is ideally celebrated in the 8th month of pregnancy, based on an auspicious date and time (Shubha Muhurtham) determined by the Janma Nakshatra of the couple.
