Pandakkal Pooja – Auspicious Start to the Wedding Rituals

Pandakkal Pooja is a sacred pre-wedding ceremony performed a day before the marriage to invoke divine blessings and ward off negative energies (Drishti) from the bride and groom.

A symbolic bamboo pole is erected at the entrance of the home, representing fertility and the presence of the family’s ancestral deity. This marks the official beginning of the wedding festivities.

Surrounded by close family and relatives, the parents of the bride and groom offer prayers to Kula Devata and Lord Ganesha for a smooth and blissful wedding celebration.

The bamboo pole is beautifully adorned with Manjal (turmeric) and Kumkum (vermilion), enhancing its spiritual significance.
